I met my EX over the phone. He called my number by mistake and we talked for several hours. I went to meet him and we dated for about a year. Turns out the guy was a PSYCHO. Lesson Learned!

Ironically, no one believed me when I told them that's how we met :)

I am not sure which lesson you learned - to pick a mate based on character, rather than 'he was there', to figure something is wrong when your perception of your mate is different from what your friends find, or to twig onto aberrant behavior when it first crops up. I am sure this was a learning experience, but it isn't clear which lesson was learned..
