I also like the idea of sex. Imagination/fantasy is a very powerful tool - mind over matter?? As for the actual act, it depends on your mind set. The way that I interpret the original poster's comment is that one does not necessary dislike having actual sex, rather the idea of sex is preferable/enjoyable because I guess you are in control 100% and you can turn it up or play it down and go in any direction you desire. Not everyone is built to bonk like hares and the libido of each of us is different. As long as one is happy and satisfied, and no one is hurt - who cares how you are getting it - right?!

I enjoy the idea of sex much more than actual sex too. My problem is, is that I get nervous during actual sex and I'm quite self conscious whereas in my head I'm a sex animal :P

I used to agree with you, but since I've been in a steady relationship and had sex sans condom---well, the reality is far superior to my imagination. It also helps that he knows what I like (rough, pinching, etc), so my fantasies and my reality are pretty commensurable.
